- 8 Dimensions of wellness include Spiritual, Mental, Emotional, Physical, Social, Environmental, Career, Financial
- Each dimensions of health has an area of change that can be focused on
Using the 8 Dimensions of Health and SMARTER Goals in Coaching
01.
Identify the DIMENSIONS OF HEALTH you want to make a change in
1.Existential
2.Mental
3.Emotional
4.Physical
5.Social
6.Environmental
7.Professional
8.Financial
02.
Identify the AREA OF FOCUS and why this change is important to your identity or values.

Examples of focus ares in the financial dimension may include:

Living Debt free
Saving for retirement
Increasing your income
03.
Define success by identifying the LONG TERM GOALS you want to accomplish

Example: "In the future I am a person who..."
04.
Create WEEKLY OBJECTIVES
using the SMARTER goals model to identify progress you can make right now to get started

Example: "Today, I am a person who..."
05.
FINAL FORMULA
1.Dimension = Financial

2. Area of Focus = Saving

3. Long term Goal = "I am a person who lives debt free and saves for the future"
4. Short term Objective = "Today, I am a person who pays my bills on time. Tomorrow, I will deposit 10% of my paycheck into a savings account for the future ".
06.
EVALUATE your objective(s) regularly. This is why we have weekly calls. We will use facts (not feelings) and measurable data points set before our evaluation to be as objective as possible,
07.
REWARD YOURSELF!
Feeling successful and celebrating with others is just as important to the process of change as the goal is itself
Identify
WHEN and HOW to celebrate
Example:
I will have a healthy lunch with friends on Sunday
08.
use steps 1-6 to REVISE long term goals and short term objectives in all 8 Dimensions of Health
Life is about continued change, progression, and growth. Once we have achieved one long term goal we are able to re-evaluate next level changes and continue this process throughout our lives
